Template:Admin dashboard/light

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
  1. Frequently, some pages transcluding {{Admin dashboard}} are going on overflow and appear at Category:Pages_where_post-expand_include_size_is_exceeded.
This Template:Admin dashboard/light has been rewritten by including directly all the parts that were dispersed in so many sub-templates.
  2. The "leaks out boxes" error has been fixed.
  3. Pages RFPP and UNFAA are simply linked (i.e. not transcluded) when too busy

Current requests for reduction in protection level[edit]

Request unprotection of a page, or reducing the protection level

Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin at their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.

  • To find out the username of the admin who protected the page click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page" which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
  • Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
  • Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
  • If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected please use the section below.
Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Current requests for edits to a protected page[edit]

Request a specific edit to a protected page
Please request an edit directly on the protected page's talk page before posting here

Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.

  • Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among {{Edit protected}}, {{Edit template-protected}}, {{Edit extended-protected}}, or {{Edit semi-protected}} to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed.
  • Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Wikipedia:Suggestions for COI compliance), the {{Edit COI}} template should be used.
  • Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Wikipedia:Requested moves, not here.
  • If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
  • This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.

Israel-Hamas War[edit]

I would like to request that... (the map be updated to show that Israel now controls the entire Gaza-Egypt border) . LordOfWalruses (talk) 15:25, 30 May 2024 (UTC)

@LordOfWalruses this is not the place. Contentious topics should not be unprotected. 48JCLTALK 12:42, 2 June 2024 (UTC)
@48JCL: Unregistered and non-extended-confirmed editors are allowed to request edits to ARBPIA pages here. —Jéské Couriano v^_^v threads critiques 15:09, 2 June 2024 (UTC)
The talk page Talk:Israel-Hamas War is protected, therefore edit requests by non-extended-confirmed users land here. That is acceptable, and this request made above is reasonable. The people who actually do participate on that talk page should be reviewing requests here that remain open and haven't been declined for days. ~Anachronist (talk) 20:30, 2 June 2024 (UTC)
So basically, I shouldn’t request an edit here but I should request an edit at the talk page (and the same goes for future edit requests)? LordOfWalruses (talk) 12:40, 6 June 2024 (UTC)
@LordOfWalruses:, it is unusual for talk pages within scope of the WP:PIA remedies to be extendedconfirmed protected (). That normally only happens after a high level of disruption. You can normally submit edit requests to talk pages. Edit requests most likely to succeed are those that are 'Specific, Uncontroversial, Necessary, Sensible' per WP:EDITXY. You can also submit them here if you prefer, there is nothing wrong with that. In fact, I think there are arguments in favor of centralizing all edit requests for WP:PIA to a single location as long as active editors add it to their watchlists (which is probably not the case right now to a large extent). Submitting edit requests to an article talk page obviously means that only a subset of the community who happen to have watch listed that particular page are likely to see it. Israel-Hamas War[edit]

I would like to request that... The casualties in Gaza for the Hamas/Gaza side be separated into civilian casualties and militant casualties . Not only would this give a better understanding of the civilian/militant death ratio, but it would also bring the Gazan side in line with the Israeli side (which has civilian and military casualties of the October 7th attack in two different groups). . The End (The Doors song)[edit]

Add the fact the song was recorded right after the major mass sniper shooting at Austin, Texas August 1, 1966 that killed over 14 persons, may have had an affect on Jim Morrison's mindset and songs' haunting tone. UT student Charles Whitman, an Florida Native (as was Jim Morrison) pillow-smothered his mother at her lodging,, then stabbed his wife in her sleep at their home. Dressed as janitor, Whitman drove to, proceeded to the Tower, where he eventually killed 14 persons and injured dozens. Stevewonder7138 (talk) 20:01, 7 June 2024 (UTC)

Autopatrolled[edit]

User:Prince of Erebor[edit]

I have created 80 articles, primarily focused on Sinophone cinema and fantasy literature, with 2 currently undergoing GAN. All of my articles have been promptly reviewed, and none of them have been deleted or marked for maintenance. I am requesting autopatrolled rights to alleviate the workload of the patrollers, especially those who actively review film articles and have reviewed the majority of my articles, allowing them to allocate more time to address articles that truly require attention. As a side note, I am a veteran editor with patroller rights on Chinese Wikipedia, having authored over 200 articles, including a dozen featured and good articles. While I fully understand that there are differences in policies and MOS across different Wikipedias, I believe this demonstrates my credibility and knowledge in assessing article quality.— Prince of EreborThe Book of Mazarbul 13:18, 1 May 2024 (UTC)

User:SheriffIsInTown[edit]

I frequently create articles on notable subjects, having authored 530 articles, with the majority facing no issues. Only three were deleted, mainly due to changes in election results affecting their notability. I'm requesting autopatroller rights to ease the burden on other editors reviewing my articles and help reduce the backlog of new article reviews. Sheriff | ☎ 911 | 23:36, 4 May 2024 (UTC)

Hello. I would like to request Autopatrolled rights on the advice of user Broc, who appreciated my editorial skills. I have created more than 140 articles, mostly music-related. (I also have these rights in Russian Wikipedia.) Sanslogique (talk) 14:17, 27 May 2024 (UTC)

I stumbled across Sanslogique's music-related articles more than once as part of NPP, and found them of high quality. They show understanding of WP:NMUSIC, their pages are well written and sourced, and I did not see any copyright problems, that's why I suggested them to apply for autopatrolled rights. User:Losipov[edit]

I'm applying for autopatrolled rights for a second time, with my first request being denied in April 2023. The reason for that decline was that my previous articles were tagged for "notability". Since then, I have worked on bringing articles over from the Russian Wikipedia and have had relatively few problems when other editors were reviewing them (I don't bring over everything from those respective pages, so I add a tag for expanding from Russian to let others know that information is still there). I feel like I have learned from what I was doing wrong, and in the process, I have made dozens more articles since the decline. Therefore, I respectfully request that I be granted the autopatrolled permission this time around. Thanks in advance for your consideration. Losipov (talk) 17:23, 3 June 2024 (UTC)

Not done I came close to granting this, the stuff you are bringing over from the Russian Wikipedia generally looks pretty good, however, you very recently had aBLP article you created deleted for being improperly sourced. That suggests your creations should continue to be reviewed by others. Just Step Sideways from this world ..... today 22:38, 6 June 2024 (UTC)

User:Ednabrenze[edit]

I regularly create new articles until I took a break to focus on work and studies. I have now concluded the studies and have retuned to creating new articles. I am requesting this right to help bring down the large number of articles waiting for reviewers attentions as articles I create will no longer join the queue if this is granted. Ednabrenze (talk) 02:50, 4 June 2024 (UTC)

Not done Your creations are generally ok, no red flags, but they come off a little bare-bones and should probably still be reviewed. Just Step Sideways from this world ..... today 22:49, 6 June 2024 (UTC)
Thank you for the comment. You said the articles are generally ok "but they come off a little bare-bones and should probably still be reviewed". Are they policy or guideline breaches? Could you please explain what this mean so that I can learn from it. But if you're referring to the size of the articles, I write based on the material available and what could be supported with reliable independent secondary sources. If there are no policy breaches, I request that you reconsider it. Cheers! Ednabrenze (talk) 05:05, 7 June 2024 (UTC)
Just so you know, Just Step Sideways, I've had a further look following Ednabrenze's request. I didn't get any further than their latest article. I edited the article in small steps so that the edit summaries give a detailed report what needed fixing. Each edit dealt with one to three issues only. In total, I made eighteen edits. Ednabrenze, the expectation is that editors who get autopatrolled are able to consistently produce clean articles that are free of issues. The Charles Okah edits show that you aren't there yet. For months I've been enforcing WP:GRP#Global rollbackers/Wikipedia talk:New pages patrol/Reviewers/Archive 37#Autopatrol and global rollback by manually marking Koavf's articles as unreviewed after their autopatrolled permission was revoked as a consequence of events having nothing to do with autopatrolled in January 2024. The entry in the rights log says "May appeal removal with a consensus at WP:AN per current convention." I'm not sure that's actually binding though. Just Step Sideways from this world ..... today 21:40, 6 June 2024 (UTC)
Looking over the permission, and as "edit-warring" was the rationale, I went ahead and restored the userright, since this is an auto-action and not itself an "active edit". If this ends up also being an issue, any uninvolved admin is welcome to re-remove without contacting me.
As for restoration of other user-rights, just follow whatever the current convention for appeal is. My understanding is that would be a consensus at WP:AN. To find out if perhaps there is some other convention, likely also requires a consensus at WP:AN, so either way, I think WP:AN is likely where such discussions are likely to end up. I hope this helps. - jc37 01:35, 7 June 2024 (UTC)

@User:Kiran891 there is File namespace on English Wikipedia, but to request moving you'd need to ask at Wikipedia:Requests for permissions/File mover. On other hand, for Wikimedia Commons see Commons:Requests_for_rights#Filemover ~ 🦝 Shushugah (he/him • talk) 22:21, 4 June 2024 (UTC)

User:AddWittyNameHere[edit]

Had the perm before, but it inactivity-lapsed a fair while ago and I held off on re-requesting upon my return because I had no need for it at the time. Would appreciate having it again so I can do WP:SWAP-style moves related to taxon articles (typically, either to bring articles in line with WP:MONOTYPICFAUNA and to fix taxon articles where the correct scientific name redirects to an invalid scientific name, but the redirect has post-creation edits.) Hello, I'd like to request the right mostly to avoid leaving R2 pages behind when draftifying (User:Chaotic Enby/Draftify log), although I've also participated in some RMs and RM/TRs. Thanks! Chaotic Enby (talk · contribs) 22:04, 7 June 2024 (UTC)

Pending changes reviewer[edit]

User:RowanJ LP[edit]

I've created many biographies and have a good understanding of Wikipedia policies. I've fixed vandalism many times and fixed many biography of living persons violations. RowanJ LP (talk) 15:20, 7 May 2024 (UTC)

User:RITWIK MAHATA[edit]

I am requesting for pending changes reviewer rights so that I can review pending changes. Ritwik Mahatat@lk 15:16, 10 May 2024 (UTC)

User:Imsaneikigai[edit]

I have been editing for around 2.5 years now, with specialised focus on field of entertainment. I also often correct typos or do general fixes on articles of various subjects. I have a good knowledge of wikipedia policies and would like to get this pending changes reviewer rights to broaden by experience and get more expertise of Wikipedia. Imsaneikigai (talk) 12:15, 13 May 2024 (UTC)

User:750h+[edit]

I have made some very high quality articles (Aston Martin DB9 FA and Aston Martin Rapide at FAC) so I am very familiar with what content is reliable and what is not. I have reverted vandalism (in fact, reverting vandalism was the first edit I made) and whenever i seen vandalism, I take extreme pride in reverting it. Best 750h+ 13:28, 17 May 2024 (UTC)

Hello User:750h+ . Nice seeing you here! From a quick look at your contributions, it seems like you usually don't leave a warning when reverting vandalism nor an semi-automated edit summary. It's very easy to do with tools like WP:Twinkle. Could you start warning editors? —Femke 🐦 (talk) 12:46, 18 May 2024 (UTC)
Oh, nice to see you here to. :) Noted. 750h+ 12:54, 18 May 2024 (UTC)

User:Boneless Pizza![edit]

I have watched listed several article that have been protected as "pending changes" such as Charizard and Woody (Toy Story) and I would love to have an option to accept their edits if its constructive. 🍕Boneless Pizza!🍕 (🔔) 01:27, 18 May 2024 (UTC)

User:GoldRomean[edit]

I think I have a decent understanding of Wikipedia's policies. I've monitored recent changes and have mostly reverted vandalism whenever I see it, trying my best to always warn them. I think that being a pending changes reviewer will help me continue to positively contribute to Wikipedia. GoldRomean (talk) 18:15, 3 June 2024 (UTC)

User:Whisky and more[edit]

I have been registered for some time now and have recently gotten into more regular editing and monitoring of recent changes and pages that come up in publicity or news to check for currency and any wayward or malicious edits or mistakes. I have a good understanding (and am always learning and improving) of the basic and relevant policies for pending changes reviewer permission. I'd love to help make Wikipedia a better place for everyone by supporting pending reviews! Whisky and more (talk) 11:33, 5 June 2024 (UTC)

Rollback[edit]

User:Adam Black[edit]

I think I have a strong history reverting vandalism and would like to request rollback rights in order to use Huggle. I already use UltraViolet and Twinkle and I think rollback/Huggle will improve my ability to tackle disruptive editing. Adam Black talkcontribs 12:43, 4 June 2024 (UTC)

User:Florificapis[edit]

I meet all 4 criteria. I spent most of my time on Wikipedia creating content and have never engaged in edit warring. Rollback would help me perform my patrolling tasks more efficiently, since I do NPR and AfC work from time to time. Florificapis (talk) 18:09, 5 June 2024 (UTC)

Not done I reviewed your contributions and found little to no recent anti-vandalism work. If you're still interested in this tool then please spend at least a month actively patrolling RecentChanges (Twinkle & Ultraviolet can help with that) before reapplying. Also, please ensure that you are consistently warning editors when you revert their edits. Thanks, Fastily 06:38, 6 June 2024 (UTC)

User:Thehistorianisaac[edit]

Came here due to Wikipedia:Wikipediholism test. Has stopped at least 2-3 counts of vandalism; I have a goal to improve wikipedia and stop even more vandalism as I truly enjoy reading wikipedia as it is very useful and has taught me many things. I am also a member of the Wikipedia:Counter-Vandalism Unit. Thehistorianisaac (talk) 04:12, 7 June 2024 (UTC)

Not done You have very little experience with anti-vandalism work. Get some more experience with tools such as Twinkle and Redwarn first. Feel free to come back in a month or so when you have done more anti-vandalism work! Malinaccier (talk) 15:47, 7 June 2024 (UTC)

Template editor[edit]

User:Magentic Manifestations[edit]

Hi! I guess I would require this for doing certain edits with respect to certain templates, particularly with respect to Indian territories and transport. I have been making edits to templates within the ambit possible, but there are a couple of protected templates which would need additions (E.g. rint updation). So, it will be useful to have this. Thanks! Magentic Manifestations (talk) 11:48, 2 June 2024 (UTC)

User:Sohom Datta[edit]

I would like to request temporary template-editor userrights on en.wiki primarily to help out with converting templates to be dark mode compatible. :) Sohom (talk) 14:17, 3 June 2024 (UTC)

Done. While I don't normally handle template editor requests, I have enough confidence in you that I'm going to grant this request. I expect, based on what I've seen from you in the past, you'll approach areas you're not familiar with cautiously, carefully, and quickly self-revert if anything isn't quite right. Hey man im josh (talk) 13:38, 7 June 2024 (UTC)

User:FarmerCars789[edit]

I want to have to be in the template editor group because i've already read the info page about Template editors, and also i've saw some mistakes and errors in templates that are restricted to the group i'm requesting. I want to fix them and maybe fix and edit templates locked behind the aforementioned group in the future if needed or for the better. FarmerCars789 (talk) 18:04, 5 June 2024 (UTC)

Not done. You do not meet the minimum criteria for this permission. You can make edits to template-protected pages by making your edit on that template's sandbox subpage, then using {{TPER}} on the talk page to request that a template editor implement it. –Novem Linguae (talk) 18:35, 5 June 2024 (UTC)
